Portal Players

Portal Players Dramatic Society has entertained Alberni Valley audiences since 1979 with plays, musicals & other live theatrical productions. In 1989 PPDS bought The Capitol Theatre.

STAGES

In 2009, PPDS began offering students aged 4 and up training in theatre arts. Two semesters a year each culminate in a public performance. In 2010, Capitol GLEE Choir was added.

Our Plays

Portal Players offers audiences a solid season of plays each year, starting in September. 3 or 4 major shows are produced, along with smaller shows put on during the year.

The Capitol

The Capitol Theatre has undergone three major renovations since it was bought in 1989. It truly is Home of the Performing Arts in Port Alberni, featuring concerts, dance, speakers and more.

Rentals

The Capitol is available to rent. Seating for 230 people makes it suitable for many events & functions. Rental rates are available on request. Call for details.
