The Capitol Theatre provides hearing assistance as a courtesy, and is free of charge. However we do ask for the user's name & phone number with a credit card or car keys as security for return of the system. Patrons are required to bring their own headphones or ear buds; our system uses a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
The system is an FM Transmitter on 72.9 MHz FM. Users have the choice of a neckloop, single earpiece or double headphone. The neckloop is to use with hearing aid(s) that must be in the Telephone (T) or Micro-Telephone (MT) position. The single ear and double headphone work as a normal stereo headset. All three systems attach to a small handheld radio. The FM system connects to microphones off stage. As hearing loss is individual, the system will work differently for each person. While the system works great for most users, it is not a solution for everyone.
Due to the limited number of receivers it is recommended that you reserve in advance to ensure availability. For availability and compatibility information please E-mail: capitoltheatre@shaw.ca or call 250-723-1195 (leave message).
